D.W Tomlin Transport Roller - 920mm Diameter, 12mm Plate
See below for more information... |
The Tomlin Flat Ballast Transport Roller has been designed and robustly manufactured to use with medium and large horsepower tractors. The roller is ideal for use by local authorities, contractors and farmers who have difficulty in moving rollers from site to site, whether in a busy town or down a narrow country lane. When the roller is in its transport position its maximum width is 150mm approximately depending on the diameter of the roller. The roller is manufactured from good quality steel and maintenance is minimal. The roller is easily converted from transport position to conventional rolling use by raising the transport wheels and lowering and raising each respective drawbar. The wheels are hydraulically operated by a spool valve mounted on the roller which is connected to the tractor hydraulic system. It is important to note that the valve can only be operated on a tractor which has both a flow and return hydraulic system. The drawbars are held in position by removable pins and an adjustable top link which can also vary the drawbar height. The roller drawbars can be towed on a drawbar but a pick-up hitch is recommended. Once the rolling operation has been completed the wheels can be lowered and each respective drawbar lowered and raised making the roller ready for transportation again. Everything needed to convert the roller to its relevant position is contained on the roller and therefore there is no risk of losing components. The roller is manufactured to the highest standard and has split cylinders to avoid scrubbing the turf. All the cylinders are ground to ensure a tight fit between them therefore minimising the mark on the turf between the cylinders. All cylinders are fully ballastable with either water, waste oil or sand. The wheels and axles are both heavy duty to give maximum life. The cylinders rotate on heavy duty British-made RHP roller bearings, these bearings will give years of service. The bearings also make the rollers very easy to tow when in its conventional rolling position, this reduces horsepower requirement and avoids the risk of the tractor wheels spinning when it moves off from a static position. The rollers are all fitted as standard with a lighting board complete with lights and indicators, which also has a facility to fit a registration plate. The roller is also subject to some optional extras: scraper blade, which is fully adjustable and reversible; spare wheel; and spare wheel mounting which is also useful to store tools, etc. in.
